About Gardner & Lewis, LLP
Gardner & Lewis, LLP is an evolution of The Law of Offices of Michael A. Gardner that has built upon his 40 years of experience by adding the unique skillset of Henry F. Lewis to the practice. Mr. Gardner now limits his practice to mediating all divorce issues. However, Mr. Lewis, a formidable litigator, handles the balance of the practice. The value of working with a family law attorney who is personally invested in your success cannot be understated. Utilizing a cost-benefit approach, we help determine which avenue best serves our clients in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Mr. Lewis, a Certified Family Law Specialist, is dedicated to helping you and your family through this difficult time by guiding you through the complex legal process to achieve the best possible outcome for your unique situation.
“I first met Mr. Gardner when I desperately needed help with an out-of-control divorce and custody situation. He was very attentive, thoroughly responsive, and absolutely compassionate as he helped me regain mental focus and legal control. Few attorneys practice their craft with the level of transparency and trust Mr. Gardner's clients enjoy as a matter of routine.”
Michael A. Gardner
With over four decades of family law experience, Michael A Gardner has addressed about every issue that arises in a family law case and now limits his practice solely to mediation. Not only is mediation typically more affordable and faster than a contested divorce, it can often help couples avoid future problems as well. He has helped many couples make mutually beneficial settlements by facilitating an agreed upon resolution. This puts the parties in control of their settlement, as opposed to being subject to a Court's mandate, giving the parties the flexibility to be creative in their case.
Mr. Gardner has an excellent track record, should you and your spouse choose to mediate your case.
Henry F. Lewis
Henry F. Lewis offers tenacious representation in divorce litigation. He’s passionate about addressing the needs of his clients and their families and has developed an approach that is both effective and cost beneficial. Mr. Lewis can handle diverse cases including complex financial issues such as business valuations as well as child custody, breach of fiduciary duty, high net worth divorce, and more.
When appropriate, he can take an aggressive approach to litigation, but he is also sensitive to the emotional component of family law cases. He is not aggressive for the sake of being aggressive but attempts to resolve your case with as little drama and acrimony as your case permits. He will always consider the impact and cost the contested litigation could have on you and your family, and will only pursue this avenue as necessary.
“My former husband and I were both professionals with complicated property issues and young children. Emotions were running high and we were heading towards disaster...He navigated very successfully through these very troubled waters. As an attorney, I can recommend him as a "lawyer's lawyer". Not cheap, but worth every penny.”Satisfied Client
